Abstract:
A new genus and species of Chlorophyta was found in the depth range 60-120 m at several locations off the Bahama Islands. Each plant consists of a branched or unbranched stipe of twisted or laterally adherent filaments which bears peltate and sometimes perfoliate monostromatic blades composed of laterally adherent filaments. The blades may be single and terminal or with several at intervals along the stipe. Reproduction has not been observed but the structure allies it with the Codiaceae.
