Abstract:
This supplement to the diatom flora in the area of the Bavarian town of Treuchtlingen (Reichardt 2018) documents findings of 22 species new to the investigated area. In addition, it reports on further occurrences of rarely observed diatoms and six species (Geissleria rectangularis, Neidium abruptirostratum, N. conforme, N. vixundulatum, Nitzschia supervermicularoides, Rhoicosphenia truncata) are described as new. Due to these new findings, further investigations became possible – often for the first time in the SEM – which allowed more precise taxonomic conclusions. New combinations are made for Edtheriotia helvetica and Paraplaconeis siofocensis.
