Abstract:
This paper deals with the taxonomic study of thirty species and varieties of the genus Micrasterias gathered in the lentic water bodies in Corrientes Province (Argentina). Some of the species here reported have not been recorded before in Argentina and South America. Micrasterias foliacea var. multiornata and M. rotate var. rotate f. quadridentate are new for science. All the species are illustrated.
