Original publication and holotype designation: Miyabe, K. & Nagai, M. (1932). Pleuropterum paradiseum, a new genus and species of Alarieae from the northern Kuriles. Proceedings of the Imperial Academy of Japan, Tokyo 8: 127-130.
Taxonomic status: currently regarded as a synonym of Alaria.
