Most recent taxonomic treatment adopted: Pena-Martin, C., Gomez-Garreta, A. & Crespo, M.B. (2010). (1974) Proposal to conserve the name Dasya, nom. cons., against Rhodonema (Dasyaceae, Rhodophyta). Taxon 59(6): 1892.

Nomenclatural note
Pena-Martin et al. (Taxon. 2010: 1892) propose to conserve the name Dasya C. Agardh against Rhodonema G. Martens considering the wide use of this name for almost two centuries, and thereby avoiding the need for about 82 new combinations. They note that Naccari (1828) accepted Rhodonema over Dasya, arguing that Marten's genus was published several months earlier than Agardh's one. - (18 January 2011) - G.M. Guiry
