Chlorococcales: Chlorococcaceae ? Neustupa et al. (2011: 63, 64) consider this genus to have a volvocalean affinity.Their preliminary analyses showed, however, that E. carotinosa, the type species and E. minuta (Volvocales) were not closely related to each other. - (04 March 2011) - G.M. Guiry
