Nomenclatural note
This name does not appear to have been validated. Pseudoisochrysis paradoxa, the putative type is available in a number of culture collections as an isolate originally made by Franklin D. Ott from Gloucester Point, Virginia in the United States. A considerable number of publications have used the name in relation to shellfish rearing and cultivation. Culture collections usually refer to the supposed type as a "nomen nudum". - (10 June 2013) - M.D. Guiry
