Nomenclatural note
This genus originally proposed by Kamptner (1955: 8) is not provisional itself, but was explicitly created as a wastebasket taxon for coccoliths of uncertain generic assignation. Nevertheless, it lacked a description (nomen nudum), making it invalid under the ICZN, Art. 13.1. The genus was inadvertently validated by Cohen (1964: 237), who assigned a single, properly described species to it, effectively publishing a descriptio generico-specifica. Only species erected after Cohen's 1964 paper are valid. - (15 November 2021) - E.A. Molinari Novoa
