Nomenclatural note
Seemingly named for the Italian botanist, Giovacchino Carradori (1758-1818) but Gray appears to have misspelled the name and used a masculine ending instread of a feminine one, as would have been the convention. Kuntze (1898: 399) attempted a correction to Carrodoria, even though the name Carradoria had alread been used by Martius (1833) an illegitimate substitute name for Hutchinsia. - (20 October 2015) - M.D. Guiry
