Taxonomic status: This name is of an entity that is currently accepted taxonomically.

Gender: This genus name is currently treated as feminine.

Most recent taxonomic treatment adopted: Bendif, El M., Probert, I., Schroeder, D.C. & Vargas, C de (2013). On the description of Tisochrysis lutea gen. nov. sp. nov. and Isochrysis nuda sp. nov. in the Isochrysidales, and the transfer of Dicrateria to the Prymnesiales (Haptophyta). Journal of Applied Phycology 25: 1763-1776.

Comments: Dicrateria inornata Parke - no designation in Parke 1949, but Green & Pienaar 1977 considered that the other species, D. gilva Parke, was in need of re-isolation and re-investigation. Jordan et al. (2005) have therefore assumed that D. inornata is the type species. Throndsen (1997: 635) record this genus as being a member of the Family Gephyrocapsaceae.

Nomenclatural note
Bendif & al (2013) showed that the type was closely related to Imantonia rotunda and transferred the genus to the Prymnesiales. - (04 October 2021) - M.D. Guiry
