Description
According to Danielidis & Mann (2002: 433, 435), there are three slides bearing ringed specimens of Amphora ventricosa in the Greville Collection (BM) and they select BM 1438 as the lectotype. However, they note that the morphotypes on Greville's slides do not correspond to the diatom studied by Garcia-Baptista (1993), when she made the new combination Seminervis ventricosa and an emended description is necessary.
