Taxonomic note
Moestrup & Calado (2018: 471) note, "Cells described as broadly ovoid, with hyaline cover ("membrana hyalina"); epicone acute, rounded, longer than the hypocone; hypocone rounded and slightly acuminate; sulcus oblique; cells slightly compressed, in transverse section kidney-shaped; nucleus elongate, kidney-shaped, positioned centrally in the epicone; chloroplasts numerous, green, small, discoid; eyespot not seen; length 22%u201351 µm, width 18%u201340 µm.
