Treated as a new name as Navicula lenzii was invalid when first published as an illustration in Schmidt et al. (1936: pl. 401, figs 90-92). Validated by Hustedt (1950: 349) by which time it was a later homonym of Navicula lenzii Krasske, 1939. - (14 March 2019) - M.D. Guiry
