Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Geissleria is Geissleria moseri Metzeltin, Witkowski & Lange-Bertalot.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Placogeia taafiana (Van de Vijver & Le Cohu) Bukhtiyarova.
