This is a marine species.
Type locality: Weymouth, Cumbrae, Arran; Swanage (Batters 1895: 313). Type: E.A. Batters; T.H. Buffham; Thickly fringing the old fronds of Zostera marina. (Batters 1895: 313). Notes: Batters collected it at Weymouth in September 1892
