Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Chaetomorpha is Chaetomorpha melagonium (F.Weber & D.Mohr) Kützing.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Arnoldiella sinensis (N.L.Gardner) C.Boedeker.
Type Information
Type locality: Kiangsu Province, China; (Gardner 1937: 32) Type: Growing on the back of a fresh-water tortoise, Ocadia sinensis; Herb. Univ. Calif.; 543979 (Gardner 1937: 32) Notes: Holotype: UC 543979; Collected in 1936 (Boedeker et al., 2012).
