This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Heveochlorella.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Jaagichlorella hainangensis (Zhang, Huss, Sun, Chang & Pang) Darienko & Pröschold.

Type locality: Hainan Province, China; (Zhang et al. 2002: 187) Holotype: Rubber trees; (Zhang et al. 2002: 187) Notes: Holotype: Living material deposited as strain FGG01 in the ClonBank of Institute of Tropical Bioscience and Biotechnology at -80ºC in 15% glycerol. Iconotype: Fig. 1.
