Nomenclatural note
Sometimes attributed solely to J.Agardh. However, J.Agardh (1851: 120) cited "Lyngb. Hydro. Dan. p. 120" which is Ceramium diaphanum [gamma] tenuissimum and who cited Ceramium diaphanum [theta] tenuissimum Roth Cat. Bot. 3, p. 156. This latter name is considered to be synonymous with C. diaphanum but records of C. tenuissima "J.Agardh" may refer to a different entity. - (28 July 2015) - M.D. Guiry
