The type species (lectotype) of the genus Areschougia is Areschougia laurencia (Hooker f. & Harvey) Harvey.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Nizymenia conferta (Harvey) Chiovitti, G.W.Saunders & Kraft.
Type Information
Lectotype locality: Swan River, Western Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 312) Notes: This type locality was first recorded by Searles (1968: 39, pl. 7a).
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), dense (Stearn 1973).
