Observed by Giffen (1984) epiphytic on the stipes of Ecklonia buccinalis; A. capensis (= Gomphonitzschia capensis); formed glossy patches mixed with tufts of Polysiphonia spp.; in a mixture of seaweeds in a rock pool (Witkowski et al. 2011). - (29 March 2011) - G.M. Guiry
