Lectotype locality: Saya de Malha in the Indian Ocean north of Mauritius (Doty 1988: 177). Lectotype: Stanley Gardiner; In 26 fathoms of water. Leiden Herbarium 938.316-220 (Doty 1988: 177). Notes: An isotype is deposited in the British Museum.
