Syntype localities: Burma [Myanmar]: several localities; (Skuja 1949: 94) Type: H. Skuja; on shell of freshwater gastropod (Paludina); (Skuja 1949: 95) Notes: Original material apparently lost (previously in RIG). Boedeker et al. (2012: 822) selected as lectotype ("holotype") the illustrations in pl. XXXVII: figs 1-7 in Skuja (1949) and designated as epitype material from a pond in tropical hothouse, Hortus Botanicus Leiden, The Netherlands, collector: C. Boedeker (sample G91), 26 April 2006, attached on mangrove pneumatophores (submerged), L 079287 (Boedeker et al. 2012: 822).

On freshwater snails in Myanmar, but also found in tropical hothouses, for example, on mangrove pneumatophores in Botanical Garden Leiden, Netherlands (Boedeker et al., 2012), where it may have been introduced. Type locality: Myanmar. - (16 March 2018) - M.D. Guiry
