Type locality: dwarf mangrove forest located between Mowry and Military canals east from L31E levee near Biscayne Bay, Florida, U.S.A. (25°28'24.3"N, 80°20'45.8"W); (Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007: 440) Holotype: material scraped from artificial substrata and in periphyton mats ; ANSP; slide ANSP G.C 5808 (Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007: 440, fig. 213) Notes: Isotype: Slide CAS 222019.
