This is a marine species.
Lectotype locality: "Mont Durand près St Jean de Sixt, Hte Savoie" (Aguirre et al. 2012: 300). Lectotype: M. Moret; "couches a Orthophragmina, Nummulites striatus, Ostrea gigantea". PC rock sample (no. 5) and one thin section (no. 5) (Aguirre et al. 2012: 300). Notes: Lemoine (1928a) based the description of this species on Priabonian (Late Eocene) material from two lacalities: Roc de Chère (Annecy lake) and Mont Durand (close to Saint Jean de Sixt),
