Illegitimate: "This new combination, proposed by Areschoug in his work on the algae of Scandinavia (Areschoug, 1847: 322), has been widely reported in the Mediterranean (M.D. Guiry in Guiry & Guiry, 2023). The name is illegitimate because it is a later homonym of C. tenuissimum Bonnemaison (see Bonnemaison, 1828: 132) [= Aglaothamnion tenuissimum (Bonnemaison) Feldmann-Mazoyer]."
