Type locality: U.S.A.: Rhode Island: Narragansett Bay (41º30.3'N, 71º25.2'W); (French & Hargraves 1986: 415) Holotype: Fig. 6J: see below (epitype) (Bachmann, Maidhof, Schröder, Pfeifer, Kurz, Rose, Müller & Müller 1985: 415) Notes: Isotypes illustrations: Figs 6F-I, K, L. Epitype: Strain SZN-B650 (Fig. 1. A-H), collected on 21 December 2010 at the LTER-MC staion in the GoN (40.80ºN, 14.25ºE). A permanent slide is deposited at the SZN Museum as slide no. SZN-B650-01 (Nanjapp et al., 2013: 919).
