Type locality: west coast of Whidbey Island, Washington State, USA (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 161). Lectotype: Setchell & N.L.Gardner Algae of Puget Sound number 658; 28.vii.1901; cast ashore on Ahnfeltia concinna. TRH A18-1186 (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 161).
