Type locality: Whidby Island, Washington, USA (Setchell 1901: 124). Type: N.L. Gardner 56; 9 xii 1897; UC 94395 (Setchell 1901: 123). Notes: Evidently cast up from deep water, attached to the stipes of kelp (Setchell, 1901: 124).
