Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Plagiogramma is Plagiogramma gregoryanum Greville.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Desikaneis simplex (Frenguelli) Tremarin, Procopiak & Ludwig.

Type locality: Río Matanza, Buenos Aires, Argentina (Holocene); (Serieyssol et al. 2009: 497) Lectotype : LP (Frenguelli Collection); slide 4 - series 403 (Serieyssol et al. 2009: 497) Notes: The slide is shown in Tremarin et al., 2009 as fig. 2 and the valve as fig. 4.
