South & Skelton (2003) and John et al. (2003) cite this species as Ceramium codii (Richards) Mazoyer 1938). Furnari et al. (2003)cite the authority for this species as (H. Richards) Feldmann- Mazoyer; the orignal name on the publication is G. Mazoyer not G. Feldmann-Mazoyer or G. Feldmann.

Taxonomic notes
South & Skelton (2003: 733) cite Ceramium serpens Setchell & Gardner 1924 as a synonym of Ceramium codii (Richards) Mazoyer 1938.

Habitat notes
