This is a marine species.
Type locality: Ile de Tre, Nhatrang, Viet Nam (Dawson 1961: 253). Holotype: Dawson 11268; Feb. 6, 1953; Low ryolie rock known as Roches Noires, off north end of Ile de Tre.. U.S National Herbarium (Dawson 1961: 253). Notes: Masuda et al. (1994: 177) note that there is an isotype specimen: collected February 6, 1953 by E.Y. Dawson, BISH 499793. Type locality: Hon Tre, Nha Trang, central Vietnam.
