This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Ulva tepida Y.Masakiyo & S.Shimada
Type locality: Shelley Beach, Caloundra, Queensland, Australia (26°47'54"S, 153°08'58"E) (Phillips et al. 2016: 59). Holotype: Julie Phillips ; 18 May 2015; high intertidal zone on a rock platform adjacent to the sandy beach and in the path of frehwater seepage from land. BRI AQ799134 (CAL 33) (Phillips et al. 2016: 59, fig. 2). Notes: Isotype: BRI AQ 799135 (CAL 35).
