Type locality: Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca Island, Spain (39°54'20" N, 3°05'05" E); (Lobban et al. 2015: 231) Holotype: Anna Ulanova; May 2012; in brown mucilage from gametangium of Acetabularia sp. about 0.5 m deep; BRM; specimen at 18.3 mm E and 9.8 mm S of left upper edge of cover glass on slide BRM ZU9/86 (Lobban et al. 2015: 231, fig. 14)
