Fucus peperocarpos Poiret
Type locality: probably Australia (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 314). Lectotype: Figs 1-6: CN (Wynne, Ardré & Silva 1993: 38). Notes: "Circumstantial evidence suggests that the provenance of Poiret's collection was Australisa rather than the Indian Ocean" Wynne et al. (1993). According to Womersley (1994: 402) the type is probably from Tasmania.
