The type species (lectotype) of the genus Pseudauliscus is Pseudauliscus peruvianus (Kitton ex Ralfs) A.W.F.Schmidt.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Eupodiscus nebulosus (Leuduger-Fortmorel) Rattray.
