Type species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Chylocladia is Chylocladia kaliformis (Goodenough & Woodward) Hooker.
Status of name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Coeloclonium tasmanicum (Harvey) Womersley
Type information
Syntype localities: Various in Western Australia (Silva & al. 1996: 486).
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), resembling the genus Opuntia.
