General Environment
This is a freshwater species.

Description
Thallus endozoic, formed by irregularly branched filaments, sometimes forming pseudoparenchymatous masses. Cells cylindrical or slightly swollen, 5.5-6.4 µm wide, up to 85 ?m long. Cells possess single parietal chloroplast without pyrenoids. Asexual reproduction by ovoid biflagellate zoospores, formed in intercalary or terminal sporangia, and by the formation of akinetes. Sporangia usually grouped into rows.

Habitat
Freshwater, endophytic in encrusting sponge Ephydatia; known only from Malaysia and Southern Spain.
