Taxonomic note
"Taxon inquirendum" This species was described by Frauenfeld (1855: 37) on a specimen collected by Sandri at Zadar (Croatia). The name is illegitimate because [it is a] later homonym of Ca. imbricatum Suhr (= Antithamnion cruciatum) described from Tangier (Morocco) by Suhr (1840: 290). It should be noted that Frauenfeld (op. cit.) excluded the conspecificity between his species with Ca. imbricatum Suhr. (Cormaci & al. 2023: 316). - (21 November 2023) - M.D. Guiry
