Type locality: "In stagnis cum plantis aquaticis in peninsula Zapata, Cuba."; (Komárek 1983: 176) Iconotypus pl. 15: fig. 35: (Komárek 1983: 176) Notes: Three localities are mentioned in the description. But they author specified that "The material for the diagnosis (p. 176) was used from the locality in Zapata."

Origin of Species Name
Adjective B (Latin), swampy, marshy (Stearn 1973).
