Habitat note
Common in tropical and subtropical marine habitats, in shallow (>2 m) and calm waters. Typically grows on intertidal, soft bottom habitats, and can also grow epiphytically on seagrass or macroalgae or float on ocean surface. Seasonally it can form extensive blooms with mats attached to the benthos or floating on the ocean surface (Engene et al., 2018). - (09 October 2018) - G.M. Guiry
