Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Laurencia is Laurencia obtusa (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Corynecladia elata (C.Agardh) Cassano, M.C.Oliveira & M.T.Fujii.
