Type locality: Norway. Arctic, Spitsbergen, Geopol (78°56'58.38"N, 11°28'35.64"E); (Jung & al. 2020: 1221) Holotype: L. Briegel-Williams (isolated by P. Jung); 2015; cyanobacterial-dominated biological soil crust, elev. 64 m; HBG; 024671 (Jung & al. 2020: 1221, 1222) Notes: GenBank accession number MN243147. The reference strain is available via the culture collection DSMZ Braunschweig (DSM 109267) and the culture collection SAG of Göttingen, Germany (SAG 2593).
