Lectotype Playfair 1915: pl. V:fig. 1, designated Townsend & Huisman: Notes: Trachelomonas longissima Pascher (1925) is alegitimate renaming of Trachelomonas caudata var. australica Playfair at species level (Pascher’s illustrations are a direct copy of Playfair’s) and as such is typified by the type of the replaced name.
