This is a marine species.
Type locality: Cumbrae, Scotland (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 430). Holotype: E.A.L.Batters; viii. 1891; collection depth: 7 fathoms; viii. 1891. TRH C10-3098 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 429). Notes: "Flagged as the type of L. battersii but listed under L. granii in Adey & Lebednik 1967: 78, who mistakenly place the collection locality in the 'Republic of Ireland' and list the collector as ‘Batlers’]..." (Woelkering et al. 2005: 430).
