Distributional note
"Specimens observed come from the Red Sea, the Mediterranean, the North and South Atlantic Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific and from 37%u2002 N (in the western Mediterranean) to 32%u2002 S (in the South Atlantic), suggesting that, despite its rarity, the species has a global distribution at subtropical and tropical latitudes. All specimens were collected from broadly oligotrophic sites with water depths varying from 12 to 170 m." - (28 February 2022) - M.D. Guiry
