The type species (lectotype) of the genus Laurencia is Laurencia obtusa (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Chondrophycus verticillatus (J.F.Zhang & B.M.Xia) K.W.Nam.
