This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Suhria.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gelidium vittatum (Linnaeus) Kützing
Fucus vittatus Linnaeus
Type locality: not specified (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 147).
John et al. (2004) cite the authority for this species as (L.) J. Agardh.
This is a marine species.
