This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Mesophyllum imbricatum (Dickie) W.H.Adey.

Nomenclatural note
"...unknowingly redescribed as Lithothamnion dickiei by Foslie (1900a: 7)
who thought that Dickie%u2019s name was only an herbarium name. Later, Foslie (190b: 12) corrected his mistake and recognized L. imbricatum as a distinct species]." (Woelkering et al. 2005: 449).
