Type locality: Pennington Bay, Kangaroo I., South Australia; (Womersley 1998: 462) Holotype: Womersley; 15 January 1946; on eastern edge of main reef; AD; A2845 (Womersley 1998: 462) Notes: Womersley (1998: 462) notes that there are isotypes located in AD, MEL and NSW and that there are paratypes collected, from S side of Ellen Point, Vivonne Bay, Kangaroo I., S. Aust., lower eulittoral, by Womersley, on 23 May 1945, located in AD, A2726 and MEL, 1006636 , and on 31 December 1945, located in AD, A2997 and MEL, 1006637.
