Guillard; isolated in 1957); (Index Nominum Algarum) Holotype: Fig. 13: (Deane, Hill, Brett & McFadden 1998: 153) Notes: Previously known as Cryptomonas sp. phi (CCMP 325); obtained from the Bigelow Culture Collection of Marine Phytoplankton (Deane et al. 1998).
